Autumn has officially arrived and with it comes so much change. The leaves begin to turn, the breeze gets chillier and the sun is setting quicker behind our Colorado Mountains. The change feels anticipated and we are enjoying the process.
In life, however, many of the changes we have been encountering have been difficult and scary. It seems that everyday we hear of some other catastrophe and heartache in our world and personally we are aging and going through many mid-life changes that have us on our knees in prayer daily.
Most of the time, I think life would be easier if I could just control all that is going on around me but no matter how hard I try to hold on- it’s impossible.
This song speaks to the fear we have of changing seasons in our lives. It asks the question, “What if I let go and see what comes my way?” Life and change have a funny way of surprising us when we will just allow it to happen without always putting up a fight.
Have you been invited to a change in your season? Is it time to change jobs? Is it time to make a move? Is it time to pursue that relationship? Is it time to slow down and be with your family? Is it time to dream again? Is it time to forgive and heal? Maybe you’ll be surprised and you’ll see that you needed this change.
We hope you enjoy this song and as always, we LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear from you.

Change (Lyrics)
Verse 1
The trees drop their leaves in the autumn, but if they held on too tight
They’d miss out on their roots digging deep and stretching up toward the sky
Some birds leave in the winter but what if they stayed
They’d miss out on the rhythm of life that the south winds bring
Chorus 1
What if I let go and see what comes my way
Sometimes the winds that blow cause the seasons to change
Maybe I’ll be surprised by all the joy in the pain
Maybe I’ll find out, maybe I’ll see that I needed this change
Verse 2
What if I miss out on life and I choose the wrong way
I’m standing here at a crossroads and I’m feeling weak
What if I stay where I am, and don’t change a thing
But if I don’t follow this path that I see I’ll never know where it leads
Chorus 2
What if I let go and see what comes my way
Sometimes the winds that blow cause the seasons to change
Maybe I’ll be surprised by all the joy in the pain
Maybe I’ll find out, maybe I’ll see that I needed this change
